Will Epitalon become legal? The PCAC review

The short answer

The FDA’s Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee reviews Epitalon on July 24, 2026. It is currently not FDA-approved and not legal to compound; the vote is the first formal step toward potential legal compounding.

A committee “yes” is a recommendation, not legalization. The path has two stages: first the PCAC vote, then formal FDA rulemaking. Each peptide effectively turns on both — which is why a favorable vote still doesn’t mean you can fill a prescription the next day.

What happens on July 24

The FDA’s Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee will hear evidence and vote on whether Epitalon should be added to the 503A list for insomnia. A “yes” is a recommendation only; the FDA would then need to issue a final rule before any pharmacy could legally compound it. Realistic patient access, if it happens at all, is late 2026 to early 2027.

Will Epitalon become legal in 2026?+
Not automatically. The committee meets July 24, 2026; a favorable vote is a recommendation only — the FDA must then issue a final rule, which typically takes months. Realistic legal compounded access is late 2026 to Q1 2027, and only if both steps go through.
